Dr. Tural Aliyev is an urban planner and associated researcher at the Gouvernance de l’Environnement et de Développement Territorial (GEDT) group of the University of Genève. Dr. Tural Aliyev, at the same time, a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology - Eawag (ETH domain), is currently engaged in research on GreenCityNet project within the Policy Analysis and Environmental Governance (PEGO) group. This interdisciplinary team serves as a link between the University of Bern and Eawag. Simultaneously, Dr. Aliyev manages an Urban Planning and Architecture Consulting Company, aiming to extend Swiss urban planning expertise to a global scale. Having obtained his Ph.D. degree in the field of urban planning from the University of Geneva, Institute for Environmental Sciences, Dr. Aliyev was a participant of the "Swiss Government Scholarships for International Students" program. He also holds a Master's degree in "Urban Planning and Territorial Projects" from the University Paul-Valéry Montpellier 3. |

ThesisThe research of Tural Aliyev is related to urban retrofitting of industrial areas. The particularity of this research is to analyze the territorial retrofitting on a large scale. This research is in relation of the processes of metropolization of the City of Baku as well as of the environmental strategy of Greater Baku. |
