IEE Statement on Diversity

The IEE is a community of teachers and researchers who welcome diversity in all its forms: gender, sexual orientation and identity, race and ethnicity, nationality, religion, physical appearance, and political opinions.

We strive to create and maintain a work environment that is also a safe space for everyone to express opinions and share experiences. The IEE community does not tolerate any behavior that can be perceived as inappropriate, offensive, or embarrassing for any of its members and visitors. Hence, we make all possible efforts to guarantee that none of our members nor our guests engage in such behaviors.

The IEE community encourages all its members and guests who may experience uncomfortable or offensive situations to report them and we provide the tools to do so in a safe, respectful, and confidential manner. We also commit to providing regular guidance to our members about how to avoid unintentional misbehavior.

A central pillar of our diversity policy is our Code of Conduct for a Constructive Culture of Exchange at seminars and other academic events. The IEE also actively adheres to the Best Practices for Economists of the American Economic Association.

For any issue related to professional harassment, you can talk to the contact persons of the Equality & Diversity Service of the University of Geneva and/or our IEE Diversity Ambassadors.
