[310] Histoire de la Médecine

Thanks to the diachronic approach, the careful study and interpretation of sources, the history of medicine allows an analytical and critical look at the actors, facts and ideas concerning medicine of the past.

 More specifically, it emphasizes :

  • the context (social, cultural, philosophical, religious, economic, etc.) of medical facts and ideas, as well as their chronological specificity;
  •  the multiple issues at stake in medical theory and practice;
  •  on the conflicts and social, intellectual and professional negotiations between the different actors in the health systems of the past.
  • on the experience, experience and agency of suffering and disease captured in their historicity.
