ADMISSION CONDITIONS
A Bachelor in Pharmaceutical Science from UNIGE or an equivalent degree.
THE MASTER IN PHARMACY
The aim of the Master's in Pharmacy programme is to provide students with the basic training necessary to pursue a career in the different areas of the pharmacists's profession (retail and hospital pharmacies, research in industry and academia, regulatory authorities, humanitarian organisations, etc.).
The 2-year programme is composed of theoretical and practical training in discovery and development of drugs and their clinical application, as well as aspects of hospital and community pharmacy.
For their Master's thesis, our students conduct individual research projects in academic institutions, in industry or in hospitals - in Switzerland or abroad. The programme is supplemented with a several internships in a retail pharmacy and at a hospital.
Upon completion of the Master's in Pharmacy programme, our graduates also pass the Swiss federal exam to obtain the title of registered pharmacist.

First year (60 credits)
- Theoretical and practical classes and lectures
Second year (60 credits)
- Individual research project (20 weeks)
- Assistantship in a retail pharmacy (20 weeks)
- Chosen internships (5 weeks)
ACADEMIC CALENDAR
LEVEL OF FRENCH REQUIRED BY UNIGE
No French proficiency test required for non-Francophones.
MOBILITY
A maximum of 30 credits can be obtained while on exchange. This includes the possibility of conduct research outside the university under the supervision of a faculty member, or do a work placement at a leading external laboratory in order to complete their Master's degree.

A Master leads to a number of opportunities both in Switzerland and abroad, including:
- Community pharmacy (pharmacist)
- Hospital pharmacy
- Industry (research, development, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, medical affairs, pharmacovigilance)

- Administration (public health, professional corporations, etc.)
- Clinical chemistry, medical analysis laboratories

Deadline for candidates that hold a foreign bachelor's degree: 28 February 2024
(30 April 2024 for candidates that hold a Swiss bachelor's degree at the start of the next academic year AND, according to their nationality, are not subject to a visa for entry into Switzerland for more than 90 days, according to Swiss government requirements and regardless of their current place of residence, or for candidates holding a Swiss residence permit that is valid beyond 30 April.)

The Faculty of Science, with the support of external partners, has established an Excellence Fellowship program open to outstanding and highly motivated students who wish to pursue a Master of Science degree in one of the disciplines covered by the Faculty. Candidate selection is based on excellence.
