Janne Estill is a mathematician and epidemiological modeler in the division of infectious diseases and mathematical modelling. He studied Mathematics at the University of Helsinki (MSc in 2008). In 2010, he joined the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM), University of Bern, and, in 2013, completed his PhD in mathematical modelling of HIV in Olivia Keiser’s group. He continued at ISPM as a postdoctoral researcher until 2017. In 2017, he moved with Olivia’s group to the Institute of Global Health, Geneva. Dr. Estill’s research focuses on developing mathematical models for disease progression and transmission of HIV, hepatitis C, and other diseases. He applies such models to evaluate the impact and cost-effectiveness of health policy interventions in Switzerland and abroad.
