Nature Scientific Data : study and phytoplancton database

The Marine and Lake Biogeochemistry group is involved in a study where phytoplankton is at the forefront which was published in Nature Scientific Data. 170 years of data of phytoplankton in Australian waters were quality controlled and gathered in a database in order to be available for future works, including studies related to global change and the validation of biogeochemical models.

The article is entitled  "A database of marine phytoplankton abundance, biomass and species composition in Australian waters".  This dataset is  lodged with the Australian Ocean Data Network  allowing public access.
