RESEARCH INTERESTS

Hg biogeochemistry in the water columns, sediments, and biota.
Hg speciation in ambient air, as well as in wet and dry deposition.
Source, transport, fate, and health effects of Hg and fine particle matters (PM2.5).

CURRENT ACTIVITIES

Actively involved in a joint Hg research between the Institute F.-A. Forel in Switzerland and the State Key Laboratory of Environmental Geochemistry (SKLEG), Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in China. The project will study Hg dynamics in reservoir systems by focusing on Baihua Reservoir (BR) located in Guiyang, Guizhou province in southwestern China.

Participate in a Swiss National Science Foundation funded research project, which examines the bioaccumulation of heavy metals (e.g. Cd and Hg) in benthic organisms.

Participate in the Hg laboratory facility building and expansion in Institut F.-A. Forel.
