Conference by Prof. David Walker - 5 May 2010

In the framework of Dr Martin Leer's seminar on "The Postcolonial Body II", Prof. David Walker, Deakin University, Australia, gave a conference on "The Body in LIfe-Writing:  On the Writing of an Auto-Ethnography".

This conference dealt with Prof. Walker's forthcoming book, an "auto-ethography" in which Prof. Walker's own experience of going suddenly blind is dealt with in connection with his mother's decline into Alzheimer's and the issue of the historian's placing of his own and his family's experience in wider Autstralian and world history, including historical theories of the body.
