Research Interests / Recherches

I hold a BA in English and German Literature and an MA in English Literature from the University of Geneva. I am currently working on a PhD thesis titled ‘Riding Sonic Waves of Change: Space Poetics in Dub and Jazz Poetry’, where I explore the relationship between poetics and philosophies of music. I am interested in the extension of the sonic worlds of dub and jazz poems into music, and in the impact that music genres in general have had on poetry since the 1920s. My broader interests also include African, West Indian and African-American literature, as well as critical race theory, performance studies, breath studies, cognitive studies applied to literature and musicology.
