Alvise Lagnerini

Assistant to K. Ierodiakonou

I pursued my undergraduate studies in philosophy at the University 'Ca' Foscari' of Venice, where I cultivated a profound interest in ancient Greek philosophy.

Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Geneva and assistant to Professor Katerina Ierodiakonou. I was actively engaged in the research project 'Theories of Cognition in the Aristotelian Commentators' (SNSF).

My doctoral research focuses on the intricacies of concept formation. Specifically, I delve into the perspectives of late antiquity commentators on induction, experience, and the intellect's role in progressing from particular to universal knowledge. Consequently, my goal is to reconstruct the historical developments of this issue within the Aristotelian tradition.
