Alexander Künzli
Alexander Künzli is Professor of translation studies and Head of the German Unit of the Faculty of Translation and Interpreting of the University of Geneva. He teaches audiovisual translation, translation theory, and research methodology. He has conducted research into subtitling from a variety of perspectives (subtitling production processes, subtitles as result of these processes, and the reception of subtitled content). Among his recent publications are a monograph that investigates professional subtitling culture as well as articles on subtitle quality, quality assurance, and subtitling competence. Alexander Künzli worked as a professional freelance subtitler until 2007 and has been Editor-in-Chief of the translation studies journal Parallèles since 2013.
