Guido Seiler

Guido Seiler is a professor in Germanic Philology at the University of Zurich. After his PhD in Zurich, he was a visiting researcher at the linguistics departments of the Universities of Stanford and Konstanz. He has held positions at the universities of Manchester, Freiburg (Germany), and Munich.

Guido Seiler’s research and teaching interests are centered around the structure of historical and present-day German(ic) varieties, in particular nonstandard and contact varieties. A particular focus in his work is the morphosyntactical structure of Upper German dialects (e.g., Swiss German, Bavarian).
