La Commission Internationale de l'Enseignement des Mathématiques (CIEM)

Devoted to the development of mathematical education at all levels, the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction (ICMI) is a commission of the International Mathematical Union (IMU), an international non-governmental and nonprofit scientific organisation whose purpose is to promote international cooperation in mathematics.
Founded at the International Congress of Mathematicians held in Rome in 1908 with the initial mandate of analysing the similarities and differences in the secondary school teaching of mathematics among various countries, ICMI has considerably expanded its objectives and activities in the years since.

Didactique Des Mathématiques dans l'Enseignement Spécialisé (DDMES)

The ddmes (didactics of mathematic in specialised teaching) is composed of researchers, trainers and specialised teachers from the Geneva, Vaud and Valais cantons.

The group aims at studying diverse questions linked to the teaching of mathematics in a specialised environment. This work is organised around an investigative dialectic – research that rests upon experiments undertaken at the Pré De Vert institution in Rolle and the diverse contexts of professional integration of each of its members. Currently, we are working on a guided program for mathematical situations in the field of geometry and we are studying their development within the context of specialised teaching.

Céline Vendeira member of the group.
