Livio completed his PhD at the University of Bern in June 2023. He joined UNIGE in David Cimasoni's Group, as a Postdoctoral Scholar, broadly interested in low dimensional topology, with a focus on interactions between classical knot theory, surface topology and singularities. 

In March 2025, he joined Prof. Brendan Owen's group as a postdoc researcher at the University of Glasgow, Scotland, funded by an SNSF postdoc.mobility grant.
