Best poster award in the Post Doc category at the CRTOH retreat

Congratulations to Emeline Boet (PhD Tamburini's group), winner of the poster session held at the CRTOH retreat on May 26-27, 2025 in the Post Doc Category.

Emeline was awarded the Post Doc poster prize among 36 submissions for her work on the theme: “Ecological dynamics of distinct cancer stem cell subpopulations drive relapse in acute myeloid leukemia”.

Emeline completed her PhD in Toulouse in the laboratory of Jean-Emmanuel Sarry, where she studied non-genetic mechanisms of resistance to cytarabine in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). During this time, she developed a strong interest in single-cell technologies to better characterize the heterogeneity of drug resistant cells and leukemic stem cells. Her research led to the identification of three distinct stem-like cell populations that cooperate to drive relapse, highlighting the ecosystem-driven nature of AML and the importance of considering this diversity in therapeutic strategies.
In October 2024, she joined the laboratory of Jérôme Tamburini at the University of Geneva as a postdoctoral researcher.

Her current work focuses on patient-derived AML samples collected throughout disease evolution. She aims to characterize the cellular heterogeneity within these samples, with the goal of gaining deeper insight into the complex biology of AML and its progression.
