A potential new treatment for brain cancer
Glioblastoma, a highly aggressive brain cancer with a low survival rate, could see new treatments emerge. UNIGE and HUG have developed genetically modified CAR-T cells. These cells target the Tenascin-C protein in the tumour environment, destroying glioblastoma cells, with success in animal models.
Valérie Dutoit, member of the CRTOH steering committee, researcher in the Department of Medicine at UNIGE, explains these results, published in the Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer in an interview conducted in French for RTS CQFD programme.
