Dr. Olha Puhach holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv (Ukraine) and a Master's degree in Cell and Molecular Biosignaling and Physiopathology from the universities of Nantes and Angers in France. She earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Virology under the guidance of Professor Wolfram Brune at the Leibniz Institute for Virology in Hamburg, Germany, with a thesis on the viral tropism of cytomegalovirus. Following one year of postdoctoral training, she joined Professor Isabella Eckerle's research group in 2021, where she investigates mucosal immunity against SARS-CoV-2 and other human respiratory viruses to identify host factors influencing viral shedding and disease severity.
