Steven is an electrical engineer and earned his PhD at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands, where he used finite element modelling and intracranial EEG analysis to investigate the mechanism of action of personalized tDCS as a treatment for focal epilepsy. During 2025, Steven joined the group of Dr Nicolas Roehri to study the relation between intracranial EEG and scalp EEG using data from patients with focal epilepsy, with the ultimate goal of reconstructing invasively measured signals and networks based on non-invasive measurements. He also contributed to the development of an open-source interactive learning platform dedicated to advanced EEG analysis.
