Background

Tomas Ros received his physics degree from Imperial College London, followed by a Masters in neuroscience from the University of Strasbourg. His interest in human behavior and brain function led him to pursue his PhD under the mentorship of Prof. John Gruzelier at University of London, focusing on the emerging field of neurofeedback.

During his PhD thesis, Dr. Ros explored the impact of EEG neurofeedback on brain plasticity using TMS, demonstrating detectable changes in the brain after just one neurofeedback session, and challenging prevailing notions that plastic changes only occurred after multiple sessions or following sleep. During his first postdoc at Western University in Canada, he investigated the efficacy of alpha downregulation protocols in PTSD patients, showcasing the potential of neurofeedback in treating this complex disorder.

Current project
As part of the Department of Clinical Neuroscience of the University of Geneva, Dr. Ros is currently investigating EEG microstates and their role in neurofeedback therapy for ADHD as well as other neurological disorders.
