Dr Hannah Brodersen is a lawyer specializing in public and criminal law, with particular expertise in the areas of export control, sanctions and embargo regimes, as well as research compliance and integrity. Her work focuses on the interactions between Swiss, European, and international law and on the governance of complex regulatory systems.
She is currently Deputy Head of the Research Management Office at the University of Bern, where she is responsible for research compliance. In this capacity, she advises management and researchers on legal and ethical issues related to research, including export controls, knowledge security, and good scientific practice.
Previously, Hannah held postdoctoral research positions at the University of Luxembourg and the University of Neuchâtel, where her work focused on European criminal law and the fight against corruption. She holds a PhD in international criminal law from Maastricht University, an LL.M. in European law from the same university, and a bachelor's degree in law and social sciences from the University of Erfurt. Her work has been recognized with several academic awards, including the Modderman Prize and the M. Cherif Bassiouni Siracusa Prize.
At the University of Geneva, Hannah is responsible for export control.
