Nathalie Mella est titulaire d’un Doctorat en psychologie de l’Université Paris-Descartes, obtenu en 2008, portant sur le lien entre émotions et perception du temps. Elle rejoint ensuite l’Université de Genève pour un post-doctorat portant sur le développement de l’empathie tout au long de la vie, et notamment sur l’évolution des liens entre émotions et cognition. Par la suite, ses recherches se focalisent sur la variabilité intra et interindividuelle dans le développement et le vieillissement cognitif au sein du Groupe de Recherche en Psychologie Développementale et Différentielle. Depuis 2017, elle mène des recherches sur le développement des compétences socio-émotionnelles en contexte scolaire, dans le groupe de Psychologie de la Santé, puis au Centre de Recherche en Sciences Affectives (CISA). Elle rejoint en 2022 l’équipe G-RIRE, et intervient auprès des futur.e.s enseignant.e.s pour aborder les dimensions relationnelles et affectives dans l’éducation et la formation.

Depuis le début de sa carrière, elle a obtenu plusieurs bourses de recherche, dont une bourse d’études doctorales du Ministère de la Défense français et une bourse Marie-Heim Vögltin du Fonds National de la Recherche Suisse (FNS).

ANNUAL RESEARCH FORUM 2025

On 12-14 February 2025 the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences (CISA) of the University of Geneva celebrates its first 20 years supporting the study of emotion with an international edition of its Annual Research Forum. Ever since its creation in 2005, the CISA has been at the forefront of the affective revolution in science and society, fostering groundbreaking research, educating new generations of interdisciplinary affective scientists, forging innovative international collaborations with industry, and creating societal impact. Over the past two decades, we have published extensively in top-tier journals, collaborated with global leaders in the field, and become a vibrant hub for scientists in Switzerland and beyond. To mark our 20th anniversary, we are convening an exceptional gathering of researchers, including some of our esteemed alumni who are now leading research teams worldwide. This celebration will unite experts from across Switzerland and the global scientific community, as well as non-academic professionals in related industries.
