FTI’s international relations

The FTI is an international faculty, thanks to its strategic position and diverse staff and student body. As a pioneer in translation and interpreting studies, the FTI has successfully collaborated with partner universities and institutions around the world in order to organize exchanges, develop innovative projects and provide community service. These collaborations have enabled us to further develop our international role and adapt to a society that is becoming increasingly interconnected.

Each year, the FTI welcomes exchange students under the Swiss European Mobility programme (formerly Erasmus), and other institutional and bilateral agreements. Students enrolled in the BA in Multilingual Communication programme are required to spend a semester or two at another university in Switzerland or abroad. Students in the MA in Translation programmes may also be eligible to go on exchange.

The FTI is is member of some of the most renowned networks in its areas of study:

European Masters in Translation (EMT)

European Masters in Conference Interpreting (EMCI)

Universities Contact Group (UCG) of IAMLADP
