Welcome to the world of mathematical exploration!  Benjamin Carrel, is a passionate researcher specializing in low-rank approximations and parallel-in-time integration, unlocking the secrets of complex equations one breakthrough at a time.

Benjamin did his Bachelor and Master at the University of Geneva and started a PhD under the supervision of Bart Vandereycken and Martin J. Gander. His research focused on numerical analysis and more specifically on the development and analysis of new algorithms for efficient large-scale computations via low-rank techniques and parallel-in-time computations.

After graduating from his PhD, Benjamin started a PostDoc at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) in Switzerland. He joined the high performance numerical algorithms group led by Prof. Laura Grigori. Where he started new research projects on randomization for solving large scale problems that arise in a variety of applications, including optimal transport.
