Fred is a developer in the GeoHealth group of the Institute of Global Health. After earning a bachelor in Human Geography, he got a master in Environmental Sciences from the University of Geneva. His master thesis was on statistical modeling of insect distribution using neural networks, self-organizing maps and boosted tree algorithms. In 2014, he taught himself how to develop web applications, especially geospatial web platform. He is currently the lead developer of the application AccessMod, a tool model to physical accessibility to health care based on user-defined scenarios and layers. He is also the lead developer of MapX, an online tool to publish and analyze geospatial data.
