How to choose wisely an antibody
Antibodies are one of the most widely used tools in life sciences. However, they are also one of the main causes of the reproducibility crisis plaguing biomedical research.
Researchers from the laboratory of Pr Pierre Cosson in collaboration with the Geneva Antibody Facility have quantitatively compared the performance of several commonly used antibodies and epitope tags side-by-side. Their recent study in FEBS Open Bio demonstrates that some are really bad, while others are highly effective, highlighting the need to carefully choose the right tools.
