A captivating lecture from Dr Ana Teresa Lopez Jimenez

On Tuesday 29th of July, Dr. Ana Teresa LOPEZ JIMENEZ, Laboratory of Prof. Serge MOSTOWY, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, gave a captivating lecture entitled "Proximity biotinylation at the host-Shigella interface reveals UFMylation as an antibacterial pathway".

She presented two of her recent projects on the host interactions with Shigella, an important human pathogen: (i) the investigatation of Shigella infection through high-content and deep-learning microscopy, (ii) the identification of a new antibacterial pathway, UFMylation.

She is hosted in the laboratory of Prof. Serge MOSTOWY which works on septins, a poorly understood component of the cytoskeleton, with the final aim to better understand some of the mechanisms of innate immune defence. For more details, visit the webpage of the laboratory of Prof. Serge MOSTOWY.
