June 27: a lecture from Prof. Sonal Srikanth
On Thursday 27th of June, Prof. Sonal SRIKANTH, Department of Physiology, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, USA, invited by Prof. Nicolas DEMAUREX will give a lecture entitled “Role of mitochondrial cristae architecture in Th1 cells”.
Her lecture will take place on Thursday 27th of June at 2pm in the auditorium J-L Reverdin B02.2526, CMU.
Using a forward genetics approach of hybrid mouse diversity panel, they identified a mitochondrial inner membrane protein, TMEM11, as a regulator of Th1 cell functions. Loss of TMEM11 increased mtROS production and reduced Th1 cell effector function in vitro and in vivo. Further molecular and biochemical studies uncovered an important role of mtROS in regulating diverse cellular functions including epigenetic modifications, lipid synthesis and cytokine production in Th1 cells.
