Sept 23: two seminars on cell polarity

On Friday 23rd of September 2022 at 10:30am, two seminars on cell polarity in C. elegans zygotes will take place in the auditorium Reverdin B02.2526.

Prof. Daniel DICKINSON, Department of Molecular Biosciences, University of Texas, Austin invited by Prof. Monica GOTTA, will first give a 30-min seminar entitled “Establishing asymmetry in the C. elegans zygote”

His research group aims to understand how cell polarity is generated in normal cells, and how it is disrupted in diseases including cancer. For more details, see his website.

Dr. Josana RODRIGUEZ, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle upon Tyne, invited by Prof. Monica GOTTA, will then give a 30-min seminar entitled “Tug of war between Par3 and Cdc42 in the polarisation of the C. elegans zygote”.

Her research group aims to understand how molecular asymmetries are achieved and how these asymmetries regulate cell polarization processes. For more details, see her website.
