Empathy has always been essential to philanthropy, but today it matters more than ever. The unprecedented intergenerational transfer of wealth, coupled with a rising tension between generations with respect to values, worldviews, and philanthropic priorities, means that family foundations and non-profit organizations need to center empathy in their work. Informed by neuroscience and positive psychology, Anita Nowak will discuss her Purposeful Empathy framework as a tool to help tackle today's most pressing social and environmental challenges, and describe a powerful six-step practice to become a more empathic leader.

4 May | WEBINAR – Continuing education | Overview of continuing education opportunities related to philanthropy and the non-for-profit sector in Switzerland, in collaboration with SwissFoundations and proFonds

Philanthropy and non-profit activities are becoming increasingly important and more professional, with a growing number of actors and trainings offered in the field. The offer varies targeting practitioners, managers, newcomers to the field, intermediaries (lawyers and wealth managers amongst others) and board members. However, it is not always easy to select the most suitable programme, including continuing education courses.

The objectives of this webinar were to provide an overview of today’s offer in Switzerland, presenting three courses, as well as providing some practical guidance.

Moderated by Aline Freiburghaus, Co-director, SwissFoundations
