The research group "Didactics and epistemology of physical education in Geneva (DEEP.Ge)" is led by Benoît Lenzen (MER).

Research fields

The research group DEEP.Ge is the most recent research group in didactics at the University of Geneva. The team is composed of members from FPSE and IUFE. It develops research on didactics in physical education, which integrates sociological, epistemological, historical, anthropological, cultural and technological reflections. Its studies are concerned with all teaching levels (primary school, secondary school, university, in-service training). Theses studies aim to describe, understand, explain and/or transform teaching, learning, assessment and training processes and systems in physical education. The DEEP.Ge team is part of international networks. Some of its members are involved in the international research projects « Cooperating teachers in physical education as partners in a professional development program: an international participatory action research – Belgium, Canada, Switzerland, USA » and « Teaching traditions and learning. Comparative didactic analysis of science education and physical education and health in Sweden, Switzerland and France ».
