Language professionals at work: A week to meet the experts

In honour of International Translation Day and 100 years of conference interpreting, the FTI will be organising a week of celebrations dedicated to the language professions. Through various events, we will be tracing the evolution of these professions in the institutional context, and examining the role of the international organisations and the FTI in fostering recognition and innovation in the fields of translation and interpreting. On the agenda: an exhibition, a meeting, a debate and roundtable, activities exploring the language professions, an international organisation day, and much more.

30 September – International Translation Day: Unveiling of the “One Trial – Four Languages” exhibition at 6:30 pm. This event is organised by the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC) and will be held in the foyer of Uni Mail until 5 October. At the heart of the exhibition are the interpreters who enabled communication in four languages (English, French, Russian and German) during the trial of the century at Nuremberg, which brought together representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Russia and Germany. On this occasion, the FTI will be holding a reception in honour of our staff members.
