Dr. Raphaël Giraud, MD, PhD, is an Attending Physician in the Intensive Care Unit at Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), a Privatdozent, and a Lecturer at the University of Geneva. He is a board-certified physician (FMH) in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. Head of the HUG-ECMO program since 2012, he developed the organ donation program after circulatory arrest with normothermic regional perfusion (PLDO) in 2017 (President of the PLDO since 2023). His research focuses primarily on ECMO and short-term cardiopulmonary support, as well as the optimization of organ donation after circulatory arrest, particularly through normothermic regional perfusion (A-NRP and TA-NRP).
