Zoltan Pataky is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Geneva (UNIGE), Head of the Therapeutic Patient Education (TPE) Unit at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG), Deputy Head of the Primary Care Medicine Department at HUG, and Director of the Certificate and Diploma of Advanced Studies in TPE at UNIGE. His research focuses on obesity, diabetes, the prevention of lower limb amputations in people living with diabetes, and therapeutic patient education, and he is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at UNIGE.

Professor Pataky is Director of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Reference and Research in the Field of Education and Long-Term Follow-up Strategies for Chronic Diseases, and actively participates in the development of disease management strategies in various countries on behalf of the WHO.
