Elisa de Castro Álvarez is the scientific and administrative coordinator of the Geneva Centre for Inflammation Research (GCIR) and the Faculty Diabetes Centre at the University of Geneva. She holds a BSc and MSc in Pharmacy, a PhD in Molecular Microbiology, and completed postdoctoral training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (New York). She brings expertise in science communication, grant writing, and research strategy. Previously, she worked full-time as an editor for the Journal of the International AIDS Society and now supports over 250 researchers across both centres.
