The Booster - Effective treatment to boost young biomedical research talents

The PhD Booster programme is an initiative of the Faculty of Medicine that aims to empower PhD students in life sciences of the University of Geneva by enabling them to develop their communication and science outreach skills, while providing grants to advance their careers.
Building on the success of previous editions, the programme offers participants an enriching coaching experience, helping them improve their project presentations and gain valuable exposure through professional video presentations and visibility on UNIGE's social media platforms.
Following a competitive selection process, five finalists receive grants to “boost” their careers. These grants enable them to finance international experiences, such as research stays in laboratories abroad, conference participation, or additional training. This opportunity provides significant career development and valuable skills for their future.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we have so far awarded grants of CHF 5,000 to CHF 10,000 each year to five finalists.
The Faculty of Medicine extends its deepest gratitude to the donors of the PhD Booster Programme, whose generosity has been instrumental since its inception. Special thanks to the Fondation privée des HUG, Fondation Zython, Fondation de Reuter, Fondation Bertarelli, Fondation Damm-Etienne, Fondation Hubert Tuor, and Madame Jean Pastré for their support.
The 2026 edition is possible thanks to the kind support of the Fondation privée des HUG, Fondation Hubert Tuor, and Madame Jean Pastré.
-> The call for applications for the 2026 edition will be launched in February.
