Bianca Borsarini
Biography
Dr. Bianca Borsarini has received her PhD in Psychiatric Neuroscience from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, where she worked for the Eating and Feeding Disorders Lab. Her doctoral project involved a multimodal MRI investigation of offspring at risk of Anorexia Nervosa, namely a Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) evaluation of cerebral white matter (volume, integrity and structural connectivity) and the neuropsychological functioning of healthy girls (8-15 years of age) at genetic high-risk to develop anorexia nervosa.
Currently, Bianca is a Postdoc for the Cognitive Neurorehabilitation Lab, and she is mainly involved in a longitudinal study that follows the rehabilitation of patients after stroke. She is focusing on the structural and functional MRI data acquisition, analysis and interpretation using novel multimodal imaging techniques and psychometric measures.
In parallel, Dr. Borsarini is also a research collaborator for Johns Hopkins Medicine - Appetite Lab, where she is focusing on expanding clinical and neuroimaging-based research on eating disorders, eating behavior, obesity and metabolism in children, adolescents and adults.
