Every week scientific seminars give the floor to junior researchers from the department. Several times a year, the department also invites senior researchers to present their research work.
The department is also involved in outreach activities. It organizes open days for the general public on the theme of diabetes and participates in the Telethon.

Prof. Omaya Dudin's lab explores the transition from unicellular to multicellular life using Expansion Microscopy. They aim to understand the origins of animal embryogenesis with a particular focus on cellular & developmental diversity among Ichthyosporea.
