Recognition of the quality of our teaching

On Friday, 25 January 2026, the Geneva Medical Students' Association (AEMG) recognised several members of the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism for their excellence in teaching at the Med'Gala. The purpose of this event is to celebrate the dedication of teachers in the Bachelor's and Master's programmes in medicine.

The award for best subject and best organisation in the first year of human medicine was given to Professor Pierre Cosson of the Department of Cellular Physiology and Metabolism for his teaching on cell structure.

The award for the best third-year Bachelor's degree exam in human medicine was given to Dr Stéphane Konig from the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism and Dr Thomas Laumonier from the Department of Surgery for their involvement in the "Introduction to the Nervous System" Unit.

The prize for the best references in the second year of the Bachelor's degree in human medicine was awarded to Dr Thierry Brun from the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism and Prof. Charna Dibner from the Department of Surgery. It also recognises the significant involvement of all those involved in designing the bibliographic references for the Nutrition, Digestion and Metabolism Unit, and in particular Ms Aviva Sugar Chmiel (UDREM) and the HSeT Foundation (Health Sciences eTraining Foundation).

The winners warmly thank the AEMG for organising the Med'Awards/Med'Gala event for the third consecutive year, which took place on Friday 25 January 2026 at the Ramada Hotel, and for recognising the significant involvement of all teachers, both academics and clinicians in the preparation of teaching and examinations.
