Managed Services
As part of its Managed Services, the RDMS provides a Data Steward to work exclusively on the applicant’s project and data. This may include training aimed at fostering autonomy in the management of research data.
Managed Services are billed to applicants based on their user status.
Examples of Managed Services
The Managed Services listed in the table below are provided for illustrative purposes only, and this list is not exhaustive.
Please feel free to contact us to discuss your needs; we are here to help and support you.
| Nom | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Data extraction | Data extraction from HUG-type databases |
| Anonymization | Anonymization of sensitive personal data (clinical data) |
| Data formating | Formatting research data for analysis |
| Data documentation | Writing documentation describing research data for reuse |
| Metadata | Setting up metadata for datasets |
| Deposit | Making research data available on one or more disciplinary data repositories |
Terms and Conditions
The RDMS does not charge a membership fee for access to its services.
Important: Before a Managed Service is provided, a preliminary meeting must be scheduled with the RDMS to best identify needs and establish a roadmap.
For certain Managed Services, the applicant may be asked to prepare and provide a Research Data Flow Diagram.
For applicants outside UNIGE, a collaboration agreement or service contract will be established.
Use of RDMS services implies acceptance of the RDMS Terms and Conditions of Use.
Pricing
Managed Services are billed to applicants based on their user status. Managed Services may be billed by the hour or at a flat rate. The cost of the flat rate is communicated to the applicant prior to the service being provided.
RDMS recommends flat-rate pricing for Managed Services. This allows us to provide you with comprehensive support throughout your research projects. It also enables better cost forecasting and control and simplifies your budget management. The option of flat-rate billing is proposed and discussed following the preliminary meeting.
You can apply for funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation’s (SNSF) Open Research Data grant (CHF 10,000 per project) to cover your research data management costs. For more information, see the RDM Funding Guide.
