Inauguration of the Synapsy Center Lausanne (UNIL/CHUV)
The new Synapsy Center Lausanne for Mental Health Research, opening officially in November, will continue the mission of the NCCR Synapsy of bringing together clinicians and neuroscientists to better understand and treat mental disorders.
In Lausanne, the Synapsy Center will bring together specialists from the CHUV's departments of Psychiatry (including the Center for Psychiatric Neuroscience), Medical Radiology, and Clinical Neuroscience, as well as specialists from the UNIL's Department of Fundamental Neuroscience.
Clinicians, neuroscientists, and researchers from both institutions will combine their strengths and expertise to develop increasingly specialized care and improve understanding of mental disorders. Several clinical and translational projects are already underway, particularly in the areas of psychosis (including schizophrenia) and mood disorders (depression).
The Inauguration Symposium for the Synapsy Center Lausanne is planned for November 11th at Cery Hospital. In addition to local UNIL/CHUV speakers, there will be two keynote speakers (Philipp Sterzer, University of Basel and Pierre Magistretti, KAUST), as well as presenters from the other two Lemanic institutions (UNIGE/HUG and EPFL).
