- You will have to register on the Academic Exchange Office website as of the 14 October 2024 indicating 4 destinations (be careful to respect instructions that will be given by the Academic Exchange Office concerning this choice of destinations).
- The deadline to submit your application will be set on the 28th of November 2024. Please check th exact date and time on the Academic Exchange Office website.
- You will be informed by the Academic Exchange Office of the destination assigned to you, in principle in January following the submission of your registration for destinations outside Europe and in March following the submission of your application for European destinations.
- The Academic Exchange Office or the host university will contact you during the spring semester – or later depending on the semester concerned by your mobility – to inform you of the registration procedures with your host university.
- Only once the mobility study plan has been requested from you by your host university, you must contact the Academic Advisor in charge of exchange programs in the SdS faculty (mobilite-etu-sds@unige.ch) in order to validate your mobility study contract. You will need to send your study contract proposal in word format, as well as the descriptions of the chosen courses. The study contract must be validated no later than the first day of the semester at the host University.
- Depending on the destination, you may be asked for a learning agreement. This document will have to be validated by the Academic Advisor in charge of exchange programs in the SdS faculty in addition to the mobility study contract.
- If necessary, your study contract may be modified later. Changes are accepted in principle until the 2nd week of the semester of the host University semester.
Validation of equivalences and credits acquired in mobility
In order for the equivalences and credits provided during the exchange program to be reported on UNIGE transcript, the host university's grade report will have to be transmitted to the Geneva School of Social Sciences. For the document to be accepted, it will have to be either an original paper document or a certified electronic document (with a certified electronic signature or with the possibility of authentification on the host university's website).
Some host universities send this document directly to UNIGE Academic Exchange Office. In such a case, the latter automatically transfers it to the Geneva School of Social Sciences, informing the student.
Once such a document has been received by the Geneva School of Social Sciences, the equivalences and credits acquired during exchange program are transferred to the student's curriculum. Student receives a confirmation mail from the Dean.
In order for the equivalences/credits to be granted, student must have successfully completed the corresponding courses provided for in the mobility study contract and obtained the credits according to the criteria of the host university.
The deadlines to be respected are athe following:
- March 8 for the equivalences/credits to be reported on the previous January/February session
- August 8 for the equivalences/credits to be reported on the previous May/June session
- October 8 for the equivalences/credits to be reported on the previous August/September session
