Restricted access to the Uni Mail site from May 13, 2024
Access to the Uni Mail building of the University of Geneva is currently restricted to the UNIGE, HES-SO and IHEID community, upon presentation of a multiservice card. Consequently, access to the Library is no longer possible for external users, either to return, borrow or pick-up requested documents, until further notice.
Until such time as access for all is re-established, the following alternatives are offered to the UNIGE Library public who are unable to access the Uni Mail building.
To return documents:
- Documents can be returned at the entrances to the Uni Mail building, in the box provided.
- Documents borrowed from Uni Mail can be returned to all other UNIGE Library sites: https://www.unige.ch/biblio/en/infos/locations/map/
To borrow documents:
- Uni Mail documents can be ordered free of charge via swisscovery UNIGE from any other UNIGE site, following the same procedure as described here: https://www.unige.ch/biblio/en/services/ill/order/ (please check that the costs displayed are 0 CHF, corresponding to an intra-UNIGE request). Delivery takes about 2 days. If in doubt, do not hesitate to contact library staff at .
To collect documents already ordered in Uni Mail:
- The deadline for collecting documents from outside the UNIGE is automatically extended until access to the building is restored for all; no charge will be added for failure to collect a document.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this situation and are doing everything we can to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.
