How pancreatic cells can learn to make insulin: innovative therapies for diabetes

Cedric completed his medical studies at the University of Lausanne before beginning his clinical training in endocrinology at the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV). He later joined Pedro Herrera’s laboratory at the University of Geneva to pursue an MD-PhD, supported by an SNSF MD-PhD grant. His research focuses on the plasticity of pancreatic alpha cells, which produce glucagon. By studying how these cells can be reprogrammed to produce insulin, his work aims to develop new strategies to restore insulin production in people with diabetes.

Cedric's grant is generously supported by the Foundation Hubert Tuor.
