Yaniss is a Lecturer in the GeoHealth group of the Institute of Global Health. He is an expert in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) at UN Environment/GRID-Geneva, and a lecturer in geomatics and coordinator of the Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) “Geomatics for a Sustainable Environment” at the University of Geneva. In 2016, he completed a PhD in Environmental Sciences with a focus on SDI. He worked from 2000 to 2010 at the World Health Organization as a GIS analyst, focusing on the UN Second Administrative Level Boundaries standardisation project (SALB). He has also been working since 2005 at UN Environment/GRID-Geneva as a webmaster, GIS analyst and SDI specialist. Since 2013, he has been involved in teaching and research at the University of Geneva, focusing on the geographic aspects of environmental and global health projects.
