Pierre Corneille Namahoro is a British and Rwandan Public Health Professional, Health Economist and Senior Immunisation Expert with strong competencies and expertise in Global Health Diplomacy. He has 20 + years of experience in Immunisation, Health Systems Strengthening (HSS), including Health Service Delivery, Human Resources for Health (HRH), Supply Chain Management, Cold Chain Logistics, Disease Surveillance, Demand Generation, Community Engagement, Public Health Governance, Policy, Planning, Programme Management, Health Management Information System (HMIS) and Health Financing. He is a polyglot (English, French, Italian, Swahili and Kinyarwanda) with a working knowledge of Spanish and Portuguese. Pierre is experienced in leadership, planning, strategic communication, stakeholders’ coordination, and private sector engagement. Pierre has substantial experience and expertise in financial management, international finance, and diplomacy.  

Pierre Corneille Namahoro is Senior Director of Immunisation, Global Supply Chain & Health Systems Strengthening (HSS) at Fascinans, Ltd. Fascinans, Ltd is a consulting company based in the United Kingdom (UK) that specialises in Immunisation, Global Health Supply Chain, Cold-Chain Logistics, HSS, Business Development, Project Management, and Programme Evaluation. Pierre is also the Vice Chair of the Independent Review Committee of GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation), which advises the CEO and the Board of Directors on key policies, strategies, the justification for the immunisation programmes, interventions, countries’ readiness, feasibility of immunisation plans, system strengthening and sustainability, economic and financial considerations and public health benefits of the investments in line with the Gavi’s mission.

Pierre Corneille Namahoro led four (4) major USAID HSS and supply chain flagship programmes, served as Senior Technical Advisor for the UNAIDS-TSM (Technical Support Mechanism) for the West and Central Africa (WCA) region, and assisted the Global Fund (TGF) in designing HIV, TB, Malaria and HSS programmes in 25 countries of the WCA region. He also provided technical assistance (TA) to the World Bank, Gates Foundation, UNICEF, and Rockefeller Foundation, and he served as senior policy advisor to the President of the Republic of Gabon. He worked in many countries: Rwanda, Haiti, Burundi, Ghana, Gabon, Benin, Kenya, Ethiopia, the USA and the UK. He was also interim Director for the “COVID-19 Vaccine Delivery, Coordination and Integration” unit at the Gavi Alliance.

Since 2005, Pierre Corneille Namahoro has regularly contributed to academic teaching, research, and capacity building in Global Health. He initiated the research and academic exchanges between the Jönköping Business School (JIBS) in Sweden and the Catholic University of Kabgayi in Rwanda, and has lectured in Health Economics and Finance at the same university since 2006.

Pierre Corneille Namahoro holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Sustainable Supply Chain Management from the University of Cambridge (UK), a Certificate in Strategic Planning from the University of Oxford (UK), a Masters’ degree in Project Management & Development, a Masters’ degree in Management Economics (Health Economics), and a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration from the Catholic University of Central Africa (Cameroon). He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy.
