March 17: PhD defence of Mr Loann Laubry
On the 17th of March 2026, Mr Loann Laubry successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "STIM1 and STIM1L in skeletal muscle: distinct isoforms for distinct functions?". His thesis was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Maud Frieden from the Department of Cell Physiology and Metabolism.
Our skeletal muscles are capable of repairing themselves following injuries, such as those that occur during intense physical exercise. In his PhD thesis, Loann Laubry studied th role of two isoforms of the same protein, STIM1 and STIM1L in muscle regeneration.
