Career prospects

Our programmes are designed to strengthen the skills and knowledge of humanitarian professionals and to enhance their career development. While the Centre does not arrange internships or job placements, students benefit from several opportunities that can support their professional trajectory:

  • Networking: Courses bring together participants from diverse organisations worldwide, creating valuable professional connections.

  • Exposure to practitioners: Students interact with experts from leading humanitarian agencies, gaining insights into real-world challenges and practices.

  • Alumni community: Graduates join both the Geneva Centre’s Alumni Platform and the wider networks of the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute (IHEID), offering long-term opportunities for exchange and collaboration.

Many alumni go on to assume greater responsibilities in their organisations, transition into new roles within the humanitarian sector, or use their diploma to strengthen their professional profile for leadership and advisory positions.
