Doctorant

David Silvaraja is a doctoral student in biomedical sciences, majoring in bioethics, under the supervision of Professor Christine Clavien (iEH2 at the University of Geneva).

He is researching how behavioural interventions could be used to effectively and ethically promote Advance Care Planning, to support early dementia patients who still have marginal capacity to make decisions concerning their future medical care and treatment.

Before joining the institute, David has completed a Master in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and has collaborated with ETH Zürich.  He has investigated the libertarian and paternalistic elements of nudges and the malleability of public acceptance of nudges in German and French-speaking Switzerland, in the fields of health and the environment.

David is a certified member of the Global Association of Applied Behavioural Scientists. He also works 50% with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
