Jamil holds an engineering degree in Computer Science from Grenoble-INP Ensimag and a Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from Université Grenoble Alpes. After an education initially focused on software development, he gradually specialized in applied mathematics, machine learning, and natural language processing.
In 2021, he joined SIMED to pursue a doctoral degree, which he completed in January 2026. Conducted as part of the Swiss National Research Programme Evolving Language, his research focused on the interactions between language and artificial intelligence, with particular emphasis on large language models and their implications for communication and healthcare professionals’ practices.
Since 2026, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at SIMED, where he continues his work on natural language processing applied to clinical data and the development of artificial intelligence tools for healthcare. His research interests include the evaluation, integration, and responsible use of language models in clinical settings.
Committed to making scientific knowledge accessible to the general public, he participated in the My Thesis in 180 Seconds competition in 2024, where he was awarded the Audience Choice Prize.
