#GenevaLovesData: data science takes up summer residence

This summer, Geneva hosts #GenevaLovesData. A series of awareness events — a public forum, an open-air exhibition, and a live performance — will bring data science and its contribution to society, research, medicine and the economy into the spotlight. Initiated by the SIB Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, the programme reinforces Geneva's position as a global reference hub for reliable, high-quality data.

Geneva Digital Health Day: where digital health gets real

On 21 May, the Geneva Digital Health Hub brought together more than 300 specialists at Campus Biotech with more than 1,000 participants online for the third edition of the Geneva Digital Health Day. At the heart of the discussions: how to move from small digital health pilot projects to large-scale implementation — and how to avoid repeating the same mistakes in building programmes that last and benefit as many people as possible.

On 11 December, Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the MBSR programme, will deliver a public lecture at UNIGE. This event holds particular significance for the Faculty of Medicine, where research on mindfulness has flourished for two decades and is now integrated into both teaching and student support.

Until September 30, panels featuring some of the Martin Bodmer Foundation's finest masterpieces in the history of medicine can be seen on the walls of the CMU. An interview with Professor Jacques Berchtold, Director of the Martin Bodmer Foundation, and Yoann Givry, scientific collaborator, co-curators of this exhibition.

Neverending hunger: when eating becomes a disease

By 2035, almost half the world's population will be overweight or obese, putting them at risk of serious health problems. Obesity, the disease of the century, is also at the heart of colossal financial stakes. Neuroscientist Christian Lüscher and diabetes endocrinologist Valérie Schwitzgebel combine their expertise to shed new light on this major public health problem. To be discovered on 25 March as part of the Louis-Jeantet public lectures.
